I Should’ve Lied

You lied to me.

I should’ve lied when we met. I should’ve acted like you didn’t affect me. I should’ve pretended like you meant nothing to me. I should’ve lied and told you I didn’t love you. That I just didn’t feel the same way. I should’ve lied and told you I could live without you, that I didn’t need you.

I should’ve lied.

Then maybe right now I wouldn’t be hurting. Maybe right now I wouldn’t be crying. Maybe right now I wouldn’t be knowing what it feels like to have to live without you, even if it’s only temporary. Maybe now I wouldn’t know what it feels like to have my heart broken by the one who was supposed to be my best friend. The one who said he loved me and would take care of me. Maybe now I wouldn’t be feeling so lonely because the one who loved me has lied to me and now is gone.

I should’ve lied.

You lied to me.

  1. Yes we regret how we acted with borderlines, we hurt so we regret as if it will some how ease the pain. It doesn’t.

    Everyone lies, not just borderlines.

What say you?
